FRESHMEN TROTS

The Meadows

Race 4
Three $50k Pennsylvania Sires Stakes present green state-breds, starting with this mile. #2 Lindys Irishcream, the sole Father Patrick filly, should offer a fair price, as the sire’s product is being overlooked.

Race 6
Speaking of strong stallions, Cantab Hall is having another great year (maybe his last) and #1 Cando Volo represents him in this debut mile, most likely offering a worthy price.

Race 8
No matter the race, D.R. Ackerman’s trotters are dismissed by the public, a mistake considering the fine blood the Ackermans have used to breed over the decades. #7 Tipsy Moni already has a win and coming from post 7 adds value.

MESSENGER FINAL

Yonkers

There is a good reason to go with a longshot here. A speed duel could get the best of the two favorites, leaving a spot for a ground-saving trip that gets the win late. That spot we give to Nautical Hanover. It's a simple scenario and one that is common on the half mile. A good price will ensue, and as an exacta and trifecta key it will produce a strong return.

YONKERS TROT FINAL

Here is a demanding strategy to endorse and it is not as strange as it is wrought with possibilities. Two speedballs, #8 Justice and #7 Joviality S, could compromise one another and tire or break in time for #1 Brave By Design to nip one, the other or both. “Brave” gets in from a judge’s placement as Dover In Motion jumped pushing a three-wide charge. A small investment makes a bag o’dough on this scenario, which offers the only reason not to pass this event.

HOOSIER STAKES

Race 10
The $115k Nadia Lobell, now at home at Hoosier, sends only six soph-filly pacers to post. #1 Boudoir Hanover had a difficult time in the Fan Hanover but crossed the border to take on a short field and will be awesome from the rail at a good price.

Race 13
The $70k Hoosier Cup final could be won a host of ways by #3 Sure Thing Herman. Last week he was third in his elim but rode the toughest of trips and almost won. It looks simple here against foes that will be backed stronger; value appears eminent.
