Harness Preview: Picks and Horses to Watch June 8-12
Selected features, stakes coverage and the never-ending TwinSpires’ horses-to-watch list (H2W) share keys to success in exotics, win, place and show payoffs.

MOHAWK MILES
Each week, we highlight probable longshots from Mohawk Park (WoMo) in this features section. If they do not win at first crack, we add them to the H2W the following week as a bet-back while adding new possibilities to this Mohawk Miles section.
Race 1—Godiva Shadow Girl; Beaten favorite from Montreal up for this mile.
Race 7—Moonstruck; Sires-stakes=popular at London loss.
Race 9—The Ideal Huntress; Returns with a fine mile here.

NEW YORK-BREDS
Tioga
The soph-trot colts ($57k) and soph-trot fillies ($59k-$60k) face off in the early season of the New York Sires Stakes.
Race 1
The sole colt division offers five glamour boys in an even match, but for what we cannot measure this early from them. Worth a shot is Tillio’s Action. The crowd may dismiss him for breaking last week but it’s a plus for us—the misstep may be incidental.
Race 7
Seven fillies must deal with Ake Svanstedt’s On The House, who’s on tap for some big miles from here.
Race 9
Try to beat the obvious favorite using Kayleigh S with the Melander team.
GRAND CIRCUIT
Mohawk
Eliminations for next week’s big finals:
Roses Are Red ($35k)
Race 3—Grace Hill meets lesser talent, obvious romp.
Race 6—Voelz Delight returns from tough loss with vengeance.
Goodtimes ($30k)
Race 4—Dowedealinandwhy is upset-minded after a cool third at 23-1.
Race 7—Warrawee Yang woke up as favorite, steps up as longshot.
Saturday, June 10
BATTLE FIELD
Northfield
The Battle of Lake Erie ($200k) brings the familiar aged pacing males together again. This will be as fast as it is equal. With his best foot forward and no daring duels, Leonidas A could take this at a decent price. From the inside, he could do it with some cover to dowse a duel or go wire to wire.
GRAND CIRCUIT
Mohawk
North America Cup elims ($50k) set up the glamour-boys’ 2023 field with four divisions, the most in years.
Race 3—Vici is ready for Brett Pelling’s high-stakes events; this one may get better and better through the season.
Race 5—Ammo is locked and loaded as one of the division’s best already.
Race 7—Save America was vicious at Philly and deserves taking on the early heat of the division.
Race 9—Ants Marching has tactical speed and should make this evident earning his way to the final.
