MOHAWK MILES

Each Thursday we highlight some probable long shots from Mohawk Park. If they do not win at first crack we add them to the H2W the following week as bet-backs or in selected features, adding new possibilities to this section.
R1 — #5 Ciel Bleu (3-1): A reasonable bet-back proposition.
R5 — #6 Nothing Bettor (7-2): Under-rated well-bred youngster improves.

Red Mile

The last stop before the Breeders Crown is Lexington, Kentucky, where the divisions battle to be best of the best on The Red Mile. The two-week Grand Circuit stop should have handicappers taking trip notes aplenty as next week most return for the super-purse events. We dedicate all of our features this week to the probabilities for many upset contenders to win, place and show with strong returns.

Brett Pelling’s stock up for a great meet; so #1 Command (6-1) enjoys our backing.

#1 Heart On Fire (3-1) could be on a winning skein winning this.

Race 6 - 2yo colt pace $109k
Joe Holloway’s #7 Ammo (9-2) is better than the crowd thinks, offers a price.

Race 8 - 2yo filly trot $118k
Forgive #3 Grand Fashion (6-1) for a Meadowlands break and take her here.
