Harness Racing Picks: Hoosier Park harness plays for Sept. 8
(Each week, Cotolo employs money-management tactics to build wagers that focus on plump profits.)
Spot Plays for harness racing at Hoosier Park
For the program on Sept. 8 at Hoosier Park, we suggest some horses for selected contests that may fit in any type of wager.
Race 1
This is a definite bet-back situation with #4 Tanya’s Joy. She broke and never had a chance from there. The week before she showed improvement, giving the field a lot of early ground and charging late to get fourth. Again, she should be in the exotics mix.
Bad luck last week in the stretch ruined what appeared to be a strong last quarter for #1 Crescent Beauty, so the six-for-12 filly need only stay flat to be a major factor.
A rank outsider last out, #10 Martini’s Fear may find passing tired ones late to be favorable to exotic bettors.
Race 4
A trio of candidates from our annals return in this field, topped by #2 Simply Oatstanding. As one of the public choices last time, the JK Endofanera sophomore finished second again. He has hit the board the last 5-of-6 starts.
Morning-line (ML) favorite #5 Always A Panther, another returnee, gets top respect being from the meet’s current top trainer, Tyler George, as well as his claiming tag dips to take on lesser animals.
Last but not least, #7 Wal Finest may stay on gait to get an piece of the exotic combo.
Race 6
Although two more horses return from last week’s analysis, there is little denying #1 Miss Spicy has the stuff to outkick the competition.
Of the others, two from last week, #4 Bella Cavalla and #5 American Fashion, are substantial contenders again, having excuses not to have performed as we measured.
Race 8
Each of his last few race lines show that #7 Midnight Mood is racing better than his odds, and finishing second at 25-1 last week proves bettors are not looking deeply enough. With a ML of 6-1, he is still worth it here.
With a similar few recent lines, #3 JK’s Pilot is excused from better finishes, but all it takes is a clean trip and he has already proven to make it on the board.
Race 12
We gave #4 Luv Lorelei a big chance last week and she was in the thick of it at 15-1, finishing third. The Muscle Massive filly has every reason to be in the top three across the finish line.
It may be no problem for #8 R Desireable Lady to manage the outside post for a winning path or at least one finishing in the top three (and it may be close if she loses).
