About Dover Downs

Since opening in 1969 Dover Downs has been one of the homes to harness racing in Delaware. During the 1980’s and much of the 1990’s racing dates and purses dwindled, but the addition of slots has revived the sport in Delaware and now the track offers over a dozen $100,000 races each year, topped by the $300,000 Progress Pace for three-year-old colt pacers.
