Harness Review for 2022: $110 winner tops list of hits

The TwinSpires.com harness-racing department remains accountable to TwinSpires bettors. At the end of each year we open our books to a 12-month display of all suggested contenders that won at 4-1 and up (place and show prices included). The list includes winning featured stakes contenders and winners from the horses-to-watch list (H2W). There were many more winners posted in 2022 that paid 7-2 and lower, but for the sake of space, we offer only two-digit winners.

The TwinSpires Harness Players’ Horse of the Year

Each season the horse earning the title comes from either our features list or the H2W list. Only one qualification is met to receive the honor—the horse must be the highest-paying winner from our posts of the year.

The TwinSpires Harness Players’ Horse of the Year for 2022 is Yes Double Down (Western Terror—Double The Fun, Grinfromeartoear). The eight-year-old pacing mare recorded the biggest win mutuel in a TwinSpires harness blog selection in 2022 on May 1 at Pocono Downs.

Yes Double Down paid $110.00, $41.00, $16.00. The trainer was Robert Krenitsky; the driver was Marcus Miller. The owner was Julie Krenitsky; the breeder was Vae LLC of Pennsylvania.
