Harness Weekly Update: $66 and $40 winners top hits
The TwinSpires Harness Blog Weekly Update covers our successes and failures from selected features and the H2W (horses-to-watch list). H2W horses through the following Monday appear in the next Update’s results.
Thursday, May 26
This week’s Mohawk Miles selections included a show finish for Willtowin Hanover ($4.20) and a fourth for Do You See It (28-1). Both were defeated by public choices.
Friday, May 27
The sires stakes for soph-colt and filly trotters at The Meadowlands surprised us with our choice going off the favorite. Fashion Schooner ($4.60, $2.30, $3.00 OK) was indeed the best and the threat of Venerable disappeared when she broke in the stretch. However, she was 6-1, overestimated by us.
Second choice Pretender won the colt final while our outsider, Classic Hill (82-1), was forced to fade after a good start but remaining first over.
Saturday, May 28
The Meadowlands feature was won by the second public choice while our contender Weslynn Quest ($4.80, $3.00) finished second.
At Mohawk our top choice in the SBOA soph-colt final was Magical Arthur (13-1). He finished fourth to the favorite but we took second with Sport Secret ($8.80, $5.70) and brought back an exacta worth $42.60.
H2W LIST RESULTS
The H2W results list across-the-board prices. Exactas listed include a H2W horse finishing second to a race-favorite or if the first two finishers are H2W horses (an asterisk appears when both horses form a cold exotic combo; most base prices are $2). The note “OK” determines that prices are correct (even when a show price exceeds a place price or all prices are the same).
Please note that some results reflect horses racing after the blog posts (they appear the following week).
This week, there were 59 H2W horses (a 15% win-hit rate and a 37% ATB [across-the-board] hit). Horses with asterisks before their names were tweets @FrankCotolo. Follow for late choices.

- I Did It Myway
As error-free as we have been with the H2W, changes occur from the time we post to the races we deliver. The gap between deadlines and the races is apt to include some changes for horses involved (as well as a few mistakes which are our fault). TwinSpires Edge editors rarely miss an error but once in a while they are in the same position as us, victims of the source rearranging information. So you do not miss anything, please double-check every horse and its information yourself. Also, remember that horses ship from track to track and sometimes skip a week or more.
