PICK-5 Hit It &B Split It
(Contenders are not listed in order of finishing preferences)
Race 1
Military Secret has had plenty of time to freshen for dropping into a claiming event. Before racing over his head he was a strong competitor around this level of conditioners.
Machin A Trick comes from the prolific Richard Moreau barn with excuses for blowing his last three finishes, though two made the toteboard. He should be gunning for position and full of pace late.
In his return, Quan Blue Chip should race well from post 1. Three back he was a serious challenger at this level and is up for a strong mile here, most likely around his morning-line (ML) forecast.
Race 2
She may be an outsider but Kloof Street has the markings of at least a mild upset victory. This is a conditioned event with a lot of suspicious class histories but Nick Gallucci’s veteran pacing mare has enough back class to make her serious here.
Better Be Donna N has raced better than her odds in this territory, making her a major threat among foes. ML favorites appear moot.
Race 3
Bound to be ignored in this field is Wild And Crazy Guy. His last two races will turn off bettors who compare them to that of his foes, but that could be a mistake considering his toteboard appearances in this volatile class range.
Of course the Moreau trotter, Grandma Heidi, will rightfully get strong backing for her 2020 campaign but dropping this low is not a wonderful sign.
Dancer Hall can beat them all with a good stride, especially since he broke last time while on a winning path and supported well enough for a good effort.
Race 4
Clearly halted from a win by an overland journey last out, Aintnobettor A is raring to make amends with a big victory here.
Perhaps a garden trip will make P L Jackson more of a competitor than in his recent two events where he was not as aggressive as is necessary and won’t get jammed when it’s time to move.
Race 5
Colin Johnson’s Evenwood Sonofagun was well supported in a wealthier conditioned event last out and though he has dipped into such conditioners after doing well in the preferred neighborhood, his foes are not threatening enough to toss him out.
There’s a bit of speed to be shown by Pointomygranson and it may be the factor that is needed in this race. It would end the Hit It & Split It stream with the kind of horse that does not split it thinly, so to speak.
