Churchill Downs

Race 9

Trainer Stidham wins with 21% of his second-time starters and saddles #7 I Hear You (8-1), who made late progress when fifth in her debut at Laurel late last month. Daughter of Street Sense is out of Overheard, who won the Dance Smartly (G2), and Stidham has won with 18% of his runners this year. Dark bay can be along from off the pace with Lanerie riding. #11 East of Eden (7-2) makes her first North American start for Brendan Walsh. Daughter of Exceed and Excel finished third at Newmarket in one of her two starts on grass and has been working well for Walsh, who wins with 22% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days.

Belmont Park

Race 3

#6 Fashion's Star (4-1) closed from off the pace to narrowly miss when second at this distance at Tampa in early May in her first start since finishing unplaced at Ascot over a year earlier. Daughter of Sea the Stars won one of two starts in England and has been working well here for trainer McGaughey, who wins with 18% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and who has won with five of 14 starters at this meet. 4-year-old can be along from off the pace with Velazquez riding.

Gulfstream Park

Race 6

Maidens going one mile on grass include #1 Pseudonym (12-1), who was rank early when unplaced in her debut from a wide post here in mid-May. Trainer Joseph wins with 20% of his second-time starters, and daughter of Hard Spun is a half-sister to two winners on grass. Dark bay has been working well and may be sent early this time breaking from the rail with Jaramillo remaining aboard.

Los Alamitos

Race 4

Trainer Mendez wins with 18% of his first-time starters and saddles #7 Smiling Crewe (5-1), a debuting son of Smiling Tiger, whose offspring win 13% of their first outings. Chestnut’s works include a recent 4-furlong move in :47 4/5 from the gate for Mendez, who has won with four of his first 13 runners this year. Gelding can win at first asking under Fuentes, who has won with two of his last six rides for the barn.

Woodbine

Race 9

#3 Western Taffy (6-1) was last seen when fifth in an even effort at Fair Grounds in February in her first start since November. Daughter of Candy Ride finished second in one of two starts on grass and worked 5 furlongs on turf here in a fast :58 3/5 this month for trainer Casse, who wins with 16% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Chestnut can be along from off the pace with Boulanger in the irons.

Ruidoso Downs

Race 9

#3 Another Brother (10-1) rallied from just off the pace before drawing off to defeat easier in his latest over 5 furlongs here in May in his first start after a short break. Trainer Fincher wins with 22% of his runners that won last time out and has won with 25% of his starters at this meet. Gelding has won five of 11 starts on this oval and can be closing into a solid place with Juarez up.
