Churchill
Race 4
Trainer Stewart wins with 13% of his runners going a route for the first time and saddles #6 Take Charge Glenda (6-1), who flattened out to finish second after making early progress over 6-furlongs in her debut three weeks ago. Daughter of Tapit is out of a full sister to the talented Omaha Beach and posted a solid 4-furlong work in :48 here five days ago for Stewart, who has won with 11% of his runners this year. Chestnut can be along from off the pace with Court riding.
Race 5
A talented group on turf includes #9 Mr. Misunderstood (5-1), who has a record of 6-5-0-1 on this turf. 6-year-old disappointed as the favorite at Fair Grounds in his latest in January but recent works include a sharp 4-furlong move in :47 4/5 at Keeneland a week ago for trainer Cox, who wins with 20% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Dark bay should find a solid pace to close into with regular rider Geroux in the irons.
Race 8 - Tepin S.
#7 Outburst (5-1) remained unbeaten in two starts in this country when leading from the start to win the Florida Oaks (G3) at Tampa in early March. Dark bay has been working well since her latest for trainer Kenneally, who wins with 17% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Daughter of young sire Outstrip should be in good position throughout with Castellano retaining the mount.
Race 9 - Blame S.
Trainer Hough has won with 20% of his starters this year and sends out #3 Global Campaign (9-2), who impressed when winning an allowance over 7 furlongs at Gulfstream last month in his first outing since July. Hough won with four of his last 16 runners second off a layoff and son of Curlin faced some of the best 3-year-olds last year. Bay can be running from just off the pace with Jose Ortiz in the saddle.
Race 10 - Matt Winn (G3)
#6 Ny Traffic (10-1) held on well when second from a wide post after chasing the leader from the start in the Louisiana Derby (G2) in his latest in March. Trainer Joseph wins with 25% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and 3-year-old has been working well since his last outing. Son of Cross Traffic figures to be the one to catch with Lopez taking the mount.
Race 11 - War Chant S.
A competitive group going one mile on grass includes #7 Bama Breeze (30-1), who makes his first outing for trainer Rusty Arnold and who has not been seen since impressively winning his debut here in September. Son of promising young sire Honor Code is out of a mare by good turf sire Anabaa and has been working well for Arnold, who wins with 11% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Connections show confidence by entering here and gelding is worth a look at long odds with Lanerie retaining the mount.
Gulfstream
Race 9
Not a huge amount of early pace going 7 furlongs may see #2 Storm Advisory (8-1) in good early position. Gelding has a record of 10-3-4-1 at this distance and comes off a third-place finish from off the pace over 5 furlongs on grass at Tampa in his first start for trainer Dini, who wins with 17% of his runners making this surface change. Camacho, who has won with two of his last three rides for the barn, takes the mount.
Santa Anita
Race 5 - Daytona (G3)
#5 Cistron (5-2) rallied from just off the pace to win his latest over the course and distance in March. Recent works include a sharp 5-furlong move in :59 1/5 for trainer Sadler, who wins with 21% of his runners in graded stakes. Son of The Factor can be in perfect striking position throughout with Espinoza remaining aboard.
Race 8 - Charles Whittingham (G2)
Trainer Chad Brown wins with 24% of his runners in graded stakes and ships #7 Rockemperor (5-2), who was last seen when closing to finish third over 9 furlongs at Fair Grounds in March. Brown wins with 27% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and 4-year-old finished third in the Belmont Derby (G1) in one of three previous starts at this distance. Son of Holy Roman Emperor can be along from off the pace with Irad Ortiz in the irons.
Ruidoso
Race 3
#3 Political Cash V (3-1) showed some late interest when fifth in his debut at Remington last month. 2-year-old is the lone runner with racing experience and trainer Arrossa won with eight of his 34 runners at the recently concluded Remington meet. 24% rider Flores retains the mount.
Race 10
Trainer Willis took the training title at Remington recently and saddles #3 La Ventaja (2-1), who broke her maiden there last month in her second outing. Runner-up from that heat returned to win next time out and filly can be on or near the lead throughout with Brooks again in the irons.
