Race 6
#3 Enjoyitwhilewecan (4-1) makes her first start for trainer Walsh and has not been seen since finishing a close third after being involved from the start over a mile at Gulfstream in late March in her first try on turf. Daughter of Quality Road is out of a mare by Dynaformer and has been working well for Walsh, who wins with 26% of his runners first time for his barn. Filly can be in good position from the start under Gaffalione, who has won with three of his last 10 rides for the barn.
Race 7
Trainer Stidham wins with 21% of his second-time starters and saddles #5 Established (6-1), who comes off a second-place finish after chasing the early leaders over 6 furlongs in his debut at Fair Grounds in March. Son of very promising young sire Constitution is a half-brother to Sweet Loretta, who won the Spinaway (G1). $400K yearling purchase has been working well at Fair Hill since his first start and can be forwardly placed from the start with Castellano taking the mount.
Race 9
#3 Chaleur (6-1) makes her first North American start for trainer Mott and was last seen when second on the all-weather surface at Lingfield in October. Daughter of excellent turf sire Dansili finished third in the Duchess of Cambridge (G2) early in her career and has been working steadily at Payson Park for Mott, who won with two of his first nine starters at this meet. Bay can be along from off the pace with Velazquez in the irons.
Gulfstream
Race 1
#9 Courage (9-2) makes his debut for trainer Pletcher, who wins with 23% of his first-time starters. Son of Speightstown is out of a half-sister to Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) winner Aptitude and has been working well for Pletcher, who has won with 22% of his runners at this meet. $350K yearling purchase appears ready for a good first outing with Vasquez riding.
Race 6
Maidens going 5 furlongs on grass include #2 Fuddled (9-5), who was unlucky when a close second in her debut over the course and distance in late March. Trainer Joseph wins with 21% of his second-time starters and with 25% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Daughter of good European sire Invincible Spirit can be near the front throughout under Jaramillo, who has won with one of his last 12 rides for the barn.
Santa Anita
Race 4
#3 Nurse Goodbody (7-2) finished well when fourth in her debut after a slow start over 5 1/2 furlongs here in early March. 4-year-old should appreciate the added distance being by Kitten’s Joy and out of a mare by Storm Cat and trainer Kruljac wins with 19% of his runners going a route for the first time. Filly can be nearer the front early with a better break under Rispoli, who has won with one of his last three rides for this stable.
Golden Gate
Race 9
Trainer Wong wins with 17% of his first-time starters and saddles #6 You Light Me Up (5-1), who has a good win-early pedigree being by Kafwain and out of a mare by Lord Carson. Gelding is a half-brother to four winners and works include a solid 4-furlong move from the gate in :48 a week ago for Wong who has won with 22% of his runners at this meet. Gelding can win at first asking with Lopez in the irons.
Ruidoso
Race 3
#9 Uncle D (5-2) has not been seen since leading from the start when winning here last September. 3-year-old has bankrolled nearly $700K while winning four of six career starts and appears best despite the long layoff.
Race 9
Trainer Reed saddled six winners at the recently concluded Remington meet and sends out #2 Not the Favorite (8-1), who drifted in early but still finished a close fourth in his latest last month. Gelding has won one of four career starts and gets a pilot change to 24% rider Flores.
