Holland's North American Free Plays for Dec. 2
Tim Holland has dived into three tracks on Wednesday, with selections for Gulfstream Park, Tampa Bay Downs and Turfway Park.
Gulfstream Park
Race 8
#7 Life in Shambles (4-1) comes off a fourth-place finish in an even effort over 6 1/2 furlongs at Gulfstream West early last month. That was his second start since being reclaimed by Peter Walder, and son of Broken Vow has a record of 4-2-1-0 on this oval. Walder has won with 20% of his runners this year, and gray should find a decent pace to close into under Lopez, who has won with two of his last six rides for the barn.
Tampa Bay Downs
Race 3
#4 Kalu (5-1) makes his first start since returning to the Sweezey barn off a fourth-place finish at this level over 6 furlongs at Gulfstream West in mid-October. Sweezey has won with 13% of his runners this year and son of Ghostzapper has won two of his six starts on this oval. Gelding can be running late with Alvarado riding.
Race 7
Trainer Proctor wins with 17% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days and saddles #6 Three Sided Story (8-1), who has not raced since finishing a slightly unlucky fourth at Laurel over 14 months ago. Daughter of War Front is out of a full-sister to Peaceful, who won the Irish One Thousand Guineas (G1) and Proctor wins with 16% of his starters on turf. Filly can be along late with Castanon in the irons.
Turfway Park
Race 6
A competitive allowance includes #6 Dance or Stroll (8-1), who rallied from off the pace to win her latest over 6 furlongs at Presque Isle in early-October. Trainer Brooks wins with 16% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days, and consistent mare has a record of 23-11-4-2 on all-weather tracks. Daughter of Stroll should find a solid pace to help her closing run style with Bridgmohan riding.
