Monday, August 10th holds free picks for Indiana Grand, Delaware Park, Presque Isle Downs and Colonial Downs.
Indiana Grand
Race 3
Trainer Cox wins with 18% of his first-time starters and saddles #6 Coach (7-2), a debuting daughter of Commissioner, whose offspring have won 16% of their first outings. $65K yearling purchase is a half-sister to one winner and has been working well for Cox, who has won with 28% of his runners this meet. Filly is likely ready to win at first asking under De La Cruz, who has won with 26% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.
Delaware Park
Race 7
#5 Pure Rhythm (5-1) has won one of four starts on grass and was not beaten far when unplaced in the Christiana in her latest here last month. Daughter of Hard Spun is out of a half-sister to the dam of Rachel Alexandra and trainer Stidham wins with 19% of his runners on grass. Dark bay can be along from off the pace with Suarez in the irons.
Presque Isle
Race 3
Maiden juveniles include #7 Nice Ace (8-1), who debuts for trainer Girten, who won with four of his last 16 first-time starters. Son of Noble Mission cost $30K last year and works include a good 4-furlong move in :48 1/5 this month for Girten, who has won with two of seven runners at this meet. Gelding appears ready for a good first outing with Vickers riding.
Colonial Downs
Race 8
Trainer Stidham wins with 20% of his runners third off a layoff and sends out #4 Embossed (7-2), who comes off a third-place finish after chasing the early leaders in the Christiana at this distance at Delaware last month in her second start after a 3-month break. Stidham has won with six of his 11 runners at this meet, and daughter of Medaglia d’Oro is a half-sister to Lucullan, who won the Knickerbocker (G2). Filly can be forwardly placed from the start under McCarthy, who has won with six of his last 11 rides for Stidham.
