Race 8
#8 Amanzi Yimpilo (8-1) was well bet when easily winning her debut at Gulfstream in June. Daughter of excellent European turf sire No Nay Never is out of a mare by Galileo and trainer Ward wins with 24% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and has won with 21% of his starters at this meet. $300K yearling purchase can be in good position throughout under Irad Ortiz, who has won with five of his last 15 rides for the barn.
Race 9
Maidens on turf include #10 Little Red Button (8-1), who stretches out in distance off a closing fourth-place finish at this level over 5 1/2 furlongs here last month. Daughter of Bellamy Road is a half-sister to two winners on turf and trainer Stephens wins with 14% of his runners on grass. Chestnut should appreciate the extra ground with Cancel in the irons.
Belterra Park
Race 4
Trainer Reed wins with 19% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and will saddle #3 Whatarocket (6-1), who will try turf for the first time and who was last seen finishing a distant fourth on the main track here in early June. Filly should take to grass being by Goldencents and Reed has won with 15% of his runners this year. Chestnut can be on or near the lead from the start with Leon remaining aboard.
Indiana Grand
Race 6
#5 Day Trip (9-2) was involved from the start when a close second over the course and distance last month in his first start for trainer Calhoun and first outing since February. Son of Tapit is a half-brother to Book Review, who won the La Brea (G1), and Calhoun wins with 21% of his runners second time off a layoff. 4-year-old can be forwardly placed throughout with Parker in the irons.
Emerald Downs
Race 6
Joe Toe wins with 17% of his first-time starters and saddles #3 Fully Compliant (9-2), who has a good win-early pedigree being by Animal Kingdom and out of a mare by Smart Strike. Works include a sharp 3-furlong move in :35 4/5 recently for Toye, who has won with 21% of his starters at this meet. Bay can win at first asking under Wales, who has won with two of his last 10 rides for the barn.
