August 24th, 2020

Handicapper Tim Holland brings us free picks from Delaware Park, Parx Racing and Indiana Grand. Tim had a decent week last week overall with basically breaking even overall (-0.02%) with 1008 selections with 188 winners = 18% and the good record of 454 selections at 5-1 or over still showing profit of 22%.

Delaware Park

Race 3

#5 Zyramid (5-1) makes his turf debut with blinkers added in his first start for trainer Demasi off a fading sixth-place finish after chasing the early leaders at Lone Star in May. Gray should take to grass being by City Zip and a half-brother to one winner on turf, and Demasi wins with 15% of her runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Colt can be in good early position with Cedeno in the saddle.

Race 5

Trainer Robertson wins with 25% of his second-time starters and saddles #8 Silver Edge (7-2), who made progress after a slow start in his debut on the main track early this month. Son of good young sire Competitive Edge is a half-brother to one winner, and Robertson wins with 18% of his runners first time on grass. Gelding can show more here with Crispin retaining the mount.

Parx

Race 6

Maidens on grass include #10 Declared (5-2), a son of 13% grass sire Hard Spun, who is out of Garden City Breeders’ Cup (G1) winner Magnificent Song. Gelding finished well when second in his latest at this distance at Delaware last month in his first start since February, and trainer Hendriks wins with 23% of his starters second off a layoff. Bay can be along late with Rodriguez in the irons.

Race 7

Kathleen Demasi wins with 14% of her newcomers and saddles #9 Tellmeyourdreams (6-1), a debuting daughter of Colonel John, who is a half-sister to one winner. Dark bay’s works include a solid 4-furlong move in :48 2/5 at Monmouth last month for Demasi, who has won with 13% of her starters at this meet. Filly is likely ready for a good first outing under Rodriguez.

Indiana Grand

Race 8

Sprinters on the main track include #9 Ikeisgreat (9-2), who flattened out to finish second after making progress from off the pace as the favorite in his latest here 11 days ago. Trainer Danner wins with 27% of her runners that were beaten as the favorite last time out and son of Munnings has won one of four starts on dirt. Dark bay should find a solid pace to stalk with Parker up. (Scratched)
