Handicapper Tim Holland is focusing upon four tracks today, with picks for Gulfstream Park, Indiana Grand, Arlington Park, and Charles Town.
Gulfstream Park
Race 1
Trainer Loza wins with 17% of his first-time starters and saddles #6 Politikum (10-1), a debuting son of Gone Astray and a half-brother to one winner. Works include a solid 5-furlong move in 1:00 1/5 from the gate at Palm Meadows a week ago for Loza, who has won with 22% of his runners at this meet. Colt appears ready for a good first outing with Arroyo riding.
Indiana Grand
Race 4
Sprinters on the main track include #2 Duplicitous (6-1), who has not been seen since finishing third in an even effort over 6-furlongs at Churchill in June. Daughter of Twirling Candy won her previous start on this oval and trainer Walsh connects with 15% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Dark bay should find a decent pace to close into under Parker, who has won with one of his last three rides for the barn.
Race 8
#2 Trophy Doll (15-1) did not get the best of trips when finishing behind several that return here after being forwardly placed early in her latest over the course and distance in her second start of the year last month. Trainer Flint wins with 26% of his runners third time off a layoff and daughter of Dream Ahead has a record of 10-2-4-0 lifetime on grass. With more pace entered here, mare could be running from further off the pace with Bowen in the irons.
Arlington Park
Race 3
#7 Kuora (4-1) likely needed her latest when unplaced at Keeneland last month in her first outing since September. 4-year-old won all three of her starts in Peru (including a Grade 3 event defeating 15 rivals) before joining trainer Correas, who has won with 10% of his starters this year. Bay can show more here with Lopez aboard.
Charles Town
Race 4
Maidens going 4 1/2 furlongs include #6 Windsor’s Fun (6-1), a debuting son of Windsor Castle, whose offspring win 16% of their first outings. Gelding is a half-brother to eight winners and trainer Casey wins with 30% of his first-time starters and at a 21% clip this meet. Dark bay can win at first asking with Lopez riding.
