Holland's North American free racing plays for Nov. 2
Tim Holland brings a selection of expert picks from Parx and Mahoning Valley on this first Monday in November!
Parx Racing
Race 5
John Servis wins with 14% of his first-time starters and saddles #10 Everymothersprayer (9-5), a debuting daughter of 16% first-out sire Kantharos and a half-sister to three winners. Dark bay’s works include a sharp 4-furlong move in :46 3/5 from the gate for Servis, who has won with 23% of his runners at this meet. Filly is likely ready to win at first asking under Pennington, who has won with three of his last 12 rides for the barn.
Race 6
#3 Audacious Quality (5-1) may have needed his latest when showing little on turf at Laurel last month in his first start since last November. Gelding has won two of his four career starts on dirt, and trainer Schoenthal wins with 12% of his runners second off a layoff. Son of Elusive Quality should find a decent pace to close into with Rodriguez in the saddle.
Race 9
#7 Precious (4-1) weakened to finish fourth after pressing the early leader over 6 furlongs in her latest in early July. Daughter of Fed Biz has won two of four career outings, and trainer Servis wins with 19% of his runners that have not raced for 90+ days. Filly has tactical speed and can be in good position throughout with Pennington up.
Mahoning Valley
Race 7
Trainer Rini wins with 26% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days and saddles #3 Swindle (7-2), who has not raced since finishing second in an even effort over 5 1/2 furlongs at Thistledown in early August. Filly has won four of 13 starts on dirt and posted a sharp 4-furlong work in :47 2/5 late last month for Rini, who wins with 26% of his runners in allowance events. Dark bay can be near the front from the start with Berrios in the irons.
