Gulfstream

Race 1

Trainer McPeek wins with 17% of his second-time starters and saddles #8 Power (10-1), who has not been seen since fading to finish unplaced after showing some early run over nine furlongs in his debut in early-February. Son of 15% grass sire Midshipman is out of a mare by Dynaformer and has worked well since his first outing for McPeek, who is having a productive meet winning with 19% of his starters. 4-year-old can show more while attracting the services of Gaffalione, who has won with two of his last six rides for this stable.

Race 8

#4 Four Grands (7-2) was well-bet and did not disappoint when drawing off to win her debut by over six lengths here last month. Daughter of promising young sire Honor Code is out of a stakes-winning mare, who is a half-sister to Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner, Liam’s Map. 3-year-old has posted three good works since her first outing for trainer Romans, who wins with 16% of runners that broke their maiden last time out. Bay can be in good position throughout with Saez remaining aboard.

Race 10

A competitive field of maidens printing on turf includes #7 Allegedly Perfect (10-1), who tries grass for the first time. Dark bay comes off a third-place finish in an even effort at this distance last month in his first start since his debut last August for trainer Fawkes, who wins with 16% second off a layoff. Gelding should improve on this surface being by Kantharos and being a half-brother to dual Canadian Champion Female Turf Horse, Starship Jubilee.  3-year-old can be in good position running from just off a likely fast pace with Berrios riding.

Oaklawn

Race 1

#8 Around the Dial (3-1) has not been seen since winning from just off the pace over 7-furlongs at Delta in mid-February. Son of Strong Mandate has won four of seven career starts on dirt and makes his third outing for trainer Amoss, who wins with 23% of runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Recent works include a 4-furlong move in :47 and gelding can be in good position throughout under Talamo, who won with 18% of rides for the barn the last 60 days.

Race 7

Blinkers are removed from #1 Dunph (5-1), who was claimed by Joe Sharp when second over 6-furlongs facing slightly better in his latest in late-February. Sharp wins with 20% of his runners first off the claim and sports a solid 25% win rate this meet. Dark bay worked 4-furlongs in a good :48 five days ago and can be along from off what should be a decent pace with Garcia up.

Race 10

Trainer Asmussen wins with 18% of his first-time starters and saddles #8 Offering (9-2), a debuting daughter of 15% debut sire Distorted Humor. 4-year-old is out of a half-sister to Streaming, winner of the Hollywood Starlet (G1), and Offering posted a sharp 5-furlong work from the gate in :59 3/5 last month. Dark bay appears ready to win at first asking from a good post under Santana.

Tampa

Race 2

#7 Finally (5-2) finished well when second in his debut over the course and distance at this level last month. Trainer Brisset wins with a solid 22% of his second time starters and son of promising young sire Carpe Diem is a half-brother to seven winners. Colt can be along from off the pace with Martinez in the irons.

Race 3

30% of races at this distance this meet have been won in gate-to-wire fashion and #9 Spectacular Road (5-2) figures to be the one to catch. Gray has a record of 3-1-1-0 on this oval and gets some class relief off a weakening sixth place finish after leading early last month. Trainer Bennett has won with 21% of his runners this meet and gelding can be tough here with Santos riding.

Race 4

#2 Magdalena (8-1) makes her debut going a mile on grass for trainer Potts, who wins with a high 36% of his first-time starters. Works include a solid 4-furlong move in :49 from the gate nine days ago and daughter of Shackleford is out of a stake winning mare. Dark bay is worth a look under Villa-Gomez, who has won with one of last eight rides for the barn.
