Tampa Bay Downs

Race 4

Trainer O’Connell wins with a solid 18% of her first-time starters and saddles #4 Malibu Ridge (8-1) for her first outing. Daughter of 11% debut sire Prospective is out of a mare by Cactus Ridge, whose offspring win 14% of their first outings, and the filly's works include a solid 4-furlong move in :49 3/5 from the gate. O’Connell has won with 17% of her runners this meet, and bay should be ready for a good first outing under Hernandez, who has won with 26% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.

Race 8

#2 Tomato Bill (3-1) may have needed his latest when fading to finish fifth at this distance at Gulfstream last month, his first outing since early-October. Son of More Than Ready finished second in the Sanford (G3) at Saratoga last year for trainer Clement, who wins with 21% of his runners second off a layoff. Chestnut can be in good early position with Gallardo taking the mount.

Race 9

Maidens on turf include #10 Amangalla (5-2), a debuting son of Super Saver who is a half-brother to four winners on grass. Gelding has been working well for trainer Weaver, who wins with 21% of his first-time starters, and 4-year-old appears ready for a good effort with Gallardo in the saddle. Another to consider is #2 Glacier Park (5-1), who drops in class off a closing sixth-place finish here early this month in his first start on turf and first outing since February. Son of Bodemeister is out of Snow Top Mountain, who won the Suwannee River (G3) on grass at Gulfstream, and trainer Rarick has won with one of last 14 runners the second time off a layoff. Gelding can be closing with Santos remaining aboard.

Race 3

Trainer Broberg wins with 25% of his second time starters and saddles #8 Moro Boss (3-1), who was never involved in his debut over 6-furlongs facing better here this month. Son of Moro Tap is a half-brother to a winner and Broberg has won with 22% of his runners at this meet. Gelding can show improvement under Cabrera, who has won with 27% of his rides for the barn the past two months.

Race 4

#5 Juliard Honor (5-2) stretches out in distance off a flattening-out fourth-place finish facing open company in her debut late last month. Daughter of Magna Graduate is a half-sister to three winners, and trainer Young wins with 13% of his second-time starters. Dark bay should appreciate the added distance and be in good position throughout with Wethey up.

Race 7

Claimers going one mile include #4 Eutychia (8-1), who gets class relief off an unplaced effort over the track and distance this month in her third start of the year. Filly has managed just one third-place finish from six tries on this oval, but was competitive facing better last year. Daughter of Itsmyluckyday should find a decent pace to close into with Tohill in the saddle.

Race 9

Conditioner Scott Young has had a good meet and saddles #1 Rookie Season (3-1), who was second best after being involved from the start as the favorite in his latest last month. 5-year-old has a record of 5-2-2-1 on this oval and Scott wins with 27% of his runners that were beaten as the favorite last time out. Dark bay figures to be the one to catch breaking from the rail under Wethey, who has won with 18% of his rides for the barn in the past 60 days.
