Gray can be in good position throughout under Rivera, who has won with 33% of his rides for the barn in the past two months.

#8 Therestofthestory (8-1) debuts for trainer Murillo Rodriguez, who won with one of his last two first-time starters. Son of Candy Ride is a half-brother to four winners and has been working forwardly for Murillo Rodriguez, who has won with 20% of his runners at this meet. Gelding may be ready for a good first outing with Hernandez in the saddle.

Delta Downs

A competitive field for the Jean Lafitte S. includes #2 Privet Moon (8-1), who was prominent throughout when breaking his maiden at Indiana Grand in October in his second outing. Son of Malibu Moon is out of a stakes-winning mare, and trainer Cox wins with 26% of his runners that broke their maiden last time out. Bay can be on or near the early lead with Saenz riding.
