It's Monday and that means time for expert race picks at Fonner Park and Will Rogers Downs!

Fonner Park Race Picks

Race 5

#2 Perfect Line (6-1) weakened to finish sixth as the favorite after pressing the early pace from a wide post in his latest over 4 furlongs at this level. Gelding has a record of 4-1-1-1 at this distance and trainer Martinez wins with 22% of runners that were beaten as the favorite last time out. Son of Line of David may make the early lead at this longer distance under Armando Martinez, who has won with 34% of rides for the barn in the past two months.

Will Rogers Downs Race Picks

Race 1

Trainer Padilla wins with 11% of his first-time starters and saddles #5 Ain’t No Fool (6-1), a debuting daughter of young sire Crash Course, who is by good first-out sire Candy Ride. Chestnut’s works include a decent 4-furlong move from the gate in :49 eight days ago. Filly may be ready for a good first outing from a decent post under Lane Luzzi.

Race 5

Maidens in similar conditions to the opener include another newcomer from the Padilla barn, #2 Eurobeauty (8-1). Filly has a good first out pedigree being by 18% first-out sire Euroears and out of a mare by With Distinction, whose offspring win 11% of their first outings. Chestnut matched her stablemate’s recent 4-furlong work from the gate earlier this month and is worth a look with Sanchez riding.

Race 7

A couple of newcomers catch the eye in this 6-furlong maiden special weight event. #7 Mayfair Heights (5-1) debuts for trainer Craddock, who wins with 18% of his first-time starters. Son of 10% debut sire The Factor is a half-brother to three winners and posted a solid 5-furlong work in 1:01 six days ago. Trainer Young wins with 11% of his first-starters and his entrant, #9 Centergee (6-1), has a good win-early pedigree being by 14% debut sire Jimmy Creed and out of a mare by Atticus, whose offspring with 11% of their first outings. Half-brother to three winners has been working forwardly and can be a factor under Triana, who has won with four of last 13 rides for the barn.

Race 9

#5 New Years Love (4-1) has not been seen since weakening to finish second after leading early over 6 1/2 furlongs at Canterbury last June. Trainer Nolen wins with a slightly low 7% of his runners that have not raced for 90 days or more, but mare has been working well and has won one of three career starts. Chestnut figures to be sent early with Wethey in the saddle.
