Hong Kong: Handicapper Bull is hot with 3 week winning streak approaching May 26
For the third week in a row, Alastair Bull’s recommended Hong Kong plays produced a more than tidy profit!
Last week’s recommended bet, Xiang Bai Qi, rattled home at odds of 10-1. Players who followed the suggested bets of $22 walked away with $70.90. Over the past three weeks recommended bets totaling $53 for Hong Kong midweek meetings produced a return of $174.95. For good measure, the New Zealand bonus play was also successful. The $4 win/$8 show on Miss Tavi returned $21.20.
Happy Valley Preview; The Marble Handicap May 26
Exuberant looks capable of handling a step up in class in the Marble Handicap (1200m, or about six furlongs) at Happy Valley on Wednesday.
The son of Free Eagle could not have been much more impressive when winning in Class 4 company on May 5, rallying from just off the speed to score by 2 1/4 lengths.
It was Exuberant’s fourth start in Hong Kong, and though he steps up to Class 3 company on Wednesday, he should get a nice run from barrier five.
He does have a change of jockey, with Zac Purton taking the mount on Equaletta Blitz, but has a more than able replacement in Karis Teetan, fresh from his victory aboard former Chilean star Panfield in the Group 1 Champions and Chater Cup last weekend. With just 114 pounds to carry, Exuberant will be hard to beat.
Also likely to be well favored is another new arrival to Hong Kong, Majestic Star. He won very well at his third Hong Kong start on the same day that Exuberant won at Happy Valley, over Class 3 company in a time 0.08 seconds faster than Exuberant’s.
Majestic Star will have the services of leading jockey Joao Moreira, but whether he will be good value when giving away 13 pounds to Exuberant remains to be seen.
Loving A Boom should run well again, while others to watch include Sky Show, Wood On Fire, and Equaletta Blitz.
