The Little Brown Jug

Thoroughbred racing has the Kentucky Derby and Quarter Horses have the All American Derby, but for Standardbreds, one of the most coveted races for 3-year-olds is the Little Brown Jug. The race was created over 70 years ago and remains a staple on the pacing circuit.

The Little Brown Jug may be a chance to spot future champions: last year’s winner, Wiggle It Jiggleit, went on to be named Horse of the Year.

  • Inaugural Race: 1946
