Horses to single in three lucrative carryovers
Handicapper J. Keeler Johnson shares horses to single in a trio of non-jackpot carryovers at racetracks across the country on Sunday.
$29,483 Pick 6 carryover at Aqueduct (1:48 p.m. ET)
Finding a viable single for the $29,483 Pick 6 carryover that gets underway in Race 4 at Aqueduct isn’t easy, but #5 Olympic Dreams (9-5) in Race 8 looks like a possibility.
Race 8, the penultimate leg of the $1 wager, is a $62,500 allowance optional claimer taking place over 1 1/8 miles. As far as recent Brisnet Speed ratings are concerned, Olympic Dreams is the fastest horse in the field, boasting numbers of 97, 97, and 99 from his last five starts. None of his rivals can boast a number higher than 96 from their last five starts.
Olympic Dreams has tactical speed and used it well to win a 1 3/16-mile allowance at Aqueduct last time out. There isn’t a crazy amount of pace in Sunday’s field, so Olympic Dreams figures to sit a favorable trip and boost his Aqueduct record to 4-for-7.
What is a single, and why are they valuable?

That's a great question!
Let's ask @J_Keelerman ⬇️ https://t.co/WTuXqaYlAW
$5,830 Pick 6 carryover at Fair Grounds (2:45 p.m. ET)
Bettors have been struggling to hit the $1 Pick 6 at Fair Grounds, so the carryover has built to $5,830 for Sunday’s card.
The first leg of the Pick 6 is Race 3, but the best spot to seek a single might be the finale. Race 8 is a $5,000 claimer for Louisiana-bred fillies and mares who have never won two races, and in terms of recent Brisnet Speed ratings, #7 Cced for Steph (5-2) looks like a standout in this five-furlong dirt sprint.
Whereas her rivals have been struggling to crack the 70 Brisnet Speed rating plateau, Cced for Steph’s last three dirt numbers are 71, 71, and 74. That 74 came when finishing third at the $10,000 level on Dec. 10 at Fair Grounds, so dropping into a $5,000 claimer might be all Cced for Steph needs to shine under hot jockey Jose Guerrero.
$186,880 Coast to Coast Pick 5 carryover (4:04 p.m. ET)
The $1 Coast to Coast Pick 5, spanning five races at Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita, has tossed up a $186,880 carryover for Sunday.
The first leg of the Pick 5 is Gulfstream’s Race 9, the Glitter Woman S. for three-year-old fillies dashing six furlongs on dirt. We recommend singling #2 Let Them Watch (2-1), whose 2-for-2 record at Gulfstream Park includes a 2 3/4-length score in the six-furlong Sharp Susan S.
Let Them Watch reiterated her sprinting prowess with a gate-to-wire triumph in the six-furlong Sandpiper S. at Tampa Bay Downs last month. Her strong E1 and E2 Brisnet Speed ratings suggest she’s the “speed of the speed” in Sunday’s field, so they’ll have to catch this fleet filly to beat her, and the catching part won’t be easy.
Good luck!
