How to bet the 2024 Tepin Stakes
An overflow field of 13 juvenile fillies will take aim on the $135,000 Tepin S. on the Aqueduct lawn on Sunday. #4 Isle of Capri was full of run in a facile debut victory at Kentucky Downs in her unveiling and gives the impression of a fine prospect to me for conditioner Brendan Walsh. The gray daughter of Munnings brought $250,000 as a weanling and went postward as the favorite first time out. She broke best to take command early and was never challenged in that dash, finishing four lengths clear under the wire.
Tepin Wagers
- $5 trifecta key 4 with 5,6,9 ($30)
- $2 trifecta 5,6,9 with 4 with 5,6,9 ($12)
That's a wrap at Kentucky Downs! 🍀

Isle of Capri has trained well in the interim, and the move to one mile should be well within her scope as well. The April foal picks up Frankie Dettori and will be forwardly placed soon after the break.
A trio of late runners in the field deserve mention, including the Graham Motion-trained #9 Laurelin, who rallied for a debut victory on the surface on Oct. 13. The Irish-bred didn’t topple the best field ever assembled in her tally, but she passed horses readily after being stuck behind a dawdling pace, and the chestnut will improve for a barn that is often better saddling experienced runners. Kendrick Carmouche has the repeat assignment.
Keeneland allowance victress #6 Reining Flowers has improved her Brisnet Speed number in three straight tilts and makes sense with John Velazquez in the controls. The John Ortiz pupil, who finished a close third in the P. G. Johnson S. at Saratoga two prior, will be taken back early and unleashed approaching the turn for home. If the filly continues her ascension, then she can obviously challenge for the win inside the final furlong.
Godolphin’s #5 She’s All Charm has impressed from a trio of tries to date for trainer Eoin Harty. The bay daughter of More Than Ready was a debut winner at Ellis Park prior to running a troubled sixth in the Untapable S. at Kentucky Downs, and the addition of blinkers seemed to move her forward in her allowance score at Keeneland most recently. The filly has room to take another step forward in her second route attempt and will have Joel Rosario in the irons.
