How to bet the Arlington juvenile races for Aug. 28
A pair of stakes events for two-year-olds will highlight the Saturday action at Arlington Park.
Race 7 -- Arlington-Washington Futurity
The impressive #6 One Timer (4-5) has blitzed two fields in succession to date for Larry Rivelli, with a 12-length debut win on the strip preceding a 3 3/4-length tour-de-force in the Victoria S. at Woodbine. The gelded son of Trappe Shot has displayed big early speed, as well as a powerful kick in the stretch, and he is the obvious one to beat on Saturday.
The Brendan Walsh-trained #5 Baladi (5-1) was a fine first-out winner on the dirt at Ellis Park and seems like the most logical upset candidate in the field. By Pioneerof the Nile, the Godolphin homebred should take to the surface change to the all-weather as he appears to be a colt with a very bright future. The gray will be rallying from a bit off of the early tempo under James Graham.

Race 8 -- Arlington-Washington Lassie
A field of 11 two-year-old fillies will go postward in a seven-furlong affair. #1 Queens Up (6-1) didn’t set the teletimer on fire in her debut when rallying to victory, but it was the way that the daughter of Classic Empire did it that impressed me. The Kentucky-bred chestnut was drawing off late in the 5 1/2-furlong dash, and I believe that she will thrive with the added distance on Saturday. Jimmy DiVito trainee will have E.T. Baird at the controls.
Conditioner Michele Boyce has a pair of impressive youngsters that she will send out in the fray. #7 Plus Chic (3-1) was a fine turf debut heroine and could be a nice one going forward. Daughter of More Than Ready is bred to run longer, so the additional distance will be a benefit to the dark bay.
#9 Purr See (8-5) drew off with ease in her debut when driving home by 13 widening lengths on the main surface. The Midshipman filly draws outside of the other speed in the cast and rates a big chance with even slight improvement second time out.
