How to bet the Arlington Million Day $1,302 Pick 6 carryover
The Saturday card at Colonial Downs features three rich stakes and a $1,302 carryover in the $1 Pick 6, so there’s a lot on the agenda for bettors to enjoy.
Let’s take a race-by-race look at the Pick 6 sequence (which gets underway at 4:03 p.m. ET) and assemble a ticket for just under $100:
Between the wideness of the track and the different marker for the quarter pole, @ColonialDowns has a unique turf course for its boutique meet! 🍀

Race 6: $50,000 Allowance Optional Claiming (1 1/16 miles on inner turf)
#1 Fort Washington (2-1) is a logical favorite while dropping in class out of 10 consecutive stakes. He’s conditioned by Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey, who has gone 2-for-4 (50%) at Colonial Downs this meet. But we can’t underestimate #2 Alex Joon (7-2), whose 2-for-3 record on grass at Colonial includes a three-length romp in the restricted Edward P. Evans S. last month.
Race 7: $100,000 Handicap (seven furlongs on dirt)
#1 Bouncer (8-5) is 2-for-3 this year, most recently scoring a decisive victory in a six-furlong allowance at Belmont Park. He’s a formidable contender for the hot jockey/trainer duo of Antonio Gallardo and Mark Casse, but we’ll also include #6 Frosted Departure (6-5), a stakes-winning sprinter who has competed in 12 straight stakes.
Race 8: Secretariat (G2, one mile on inner turf)
#3 Nagirroc (5-2) has won multiple stakes and finished a good third in the one-mile Manila (G3) at Belmont last month after dueling for the lead through hot fractions. We prefer him over deep-closing Manila winner #7 More Than Looks (5-1), but we’ll also use three-time graded stakes winner #6 Major Dude (6-1), the impressive Belmont Park maiden winner #5 Northern Invader (8-1), and 2022 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) runner-up #1 Silver Knott (3-1).
Race 9: Beverly D. (G1, 1 3/16 miles on outer turf)
#1 Fev Rover (2-1) has won a couple of Grade 2 stakes at Woodbine and recently shipped to Saratoga to finish a close third in the 1 1/8-mile Diana (G1), beaten only half a length by up-and-coming Gallorette (G3) winner Whitebeam and multiple Grade 1 winner In Italian. That was a strong try against a deep field, so we’ll make Fev Rover a Pick 6 single.
Race 10: Arlington Million (G1, 1 1/4 miles on outer turf)
#8 Catnip (8-1) is our first choice after employing pace-tracking tactics to finish a good second in the 1 3/8-mile United Nations (G1), but #7 Strong Quality (12-1) is also intriguing after finishing a pacesetting fifth behind multiple Grade 1 winner Up to the Mark in the Manhattan (G1) at Belmont. We’ll take a stand with these two.

Race 11: $25,000 Allowance Optional Claiming (1 1/16 miles on inner turf)
#9 Tequilera (5-1) has lots of speed and has placed many times against allowance competition, but he’s not the only speed horse in this large field, and it’s been a while since he’s visited the winner’s circle. We’ll back him up with #11 Fish Mooney (4-1) and #8 Galilei (6-1).
- $1 Pick 6: 1,2 with 1,6 with 1,3,5,6 with 1 with 7,8 with 8,9,11 ($96)
Good luck!
