The speed of the Baxter will come from the outside with #5 Yayasgotmoregame, #6 Ye Be Judged, and #7 Backchatter, all vying for position in the early stages.

Baxter Contenders

#1 DOUBLETROUBLE BEAR (10-1) -- Debuter gets a tough rail post for his initial assignment for Joe Hawley. Sky Kingdom 3-year-old shows a useful gate drill on the surface, and the Arkansas-bred gelding could be live if early money comes in his direction.

#2 KAT DUDE (2-1) -- Win contender finished a distant third behind a nice top pair in his local bow for Black, who has two players in the field. First Dude gelding was a smart maiden winner at Sam Houston two prior, and he will improve second time on this oval. Dakota Wood picks up the mount.

#3 DANCING FOR DE BUY (10-1) -- Dark bay gelding has defeated a total of one horse in his last four outings combined. The Colorado-bred looks overmatched today.

#4 TEXAS TROUBADOR (7-2) -- Gonzalez pupil didn’t fire with allowance foes last time out, though the son of Munnings did finish a credible third at Fonner two races back. Kentucky-bred lacks consistency, but his best effort makes him a contender on Tuesday.

#5 YAYASGOTMOREGAME (8-1) -- 3-year-old gelding has put in a pair of solid efforts in preparation of his stakes debut for Thompson. Dark bay gelding receives more ground to work with in this spot, and he will be in the hunt late with a forward move. Scott Bethke will be in the stirrups.

#6 YE BE JUDGED (6-1) -- Son of Judge Bill was a sharp maiden winner and rates a big chance with improvement beneath Olesiak. Nebraska-bred from the Black barn led throughout in his most recent showing, and the bay could be the one to catch with a clean break on Tuesday.

#7 BACKCHATTER (3-1) --  Win contender was game in victory last time and draws well for his first with winners. Chestnut colt from the Steve Hall shedrow can run from on or off the early tempo, and the sophomore will have clear sailing throughout with Fackler on board.
