How to bet the Bison City Stakes
The second leg of the Canadian Triple Tiara will take place Saturday when nine sophomore fillies will go postward in the $250,000 Bison City S. at Woodbine. Conditioner Mark Casse has a trio of contenders for the contest, and the slight edge should go to the twice stakes-placed #8 Stormcast in her third run of 2024.

By Mitole, the sophomore ran well on a trio of occasions as a juvenile, led by a third-place finish in the My Dear S. when sprinting on the surface.
The dark bay was aggressively placed in the Honey Ryder S. in her seasonal debut at one mile on the Gulfstream turf and ran a big one when a clear second at the finish. She ran off to some extent last time in a nine-furlong allowance race on the oval when finishing second, and I liked that showing that was surely a prep for this bigger prize. Patrick Husbands will guide her for the second time and have her close up from the opening bell.
#4 Stormcast tries the turf and wins easy in R5 at Woodbine under @dcjock1 for trainer Mark Casse! ⛈️

I successfully tabbed #7 Kin’s Concerto to break her maiden in the Woodbine Oaks last time out, and this daughter of Mendelssohn surely has to be given a chance right back for Josie Carroll. The Ontario-bred chestnut has been consistent in her five races and will likely get another healthy pace to rally into on this occasion with Sofia Vives retaining the ride.
Woodbine Oaks fourth-place finisher #2 A Little Frisky and fine debut winner #4 Ontario are both interesting for the exotics for Carroll.
The former cuts back from 1 1/8 miles and also gets a better post after being parked in the 12 slot last time. She is a stakes heroine on the course and will have Justin Stein in the stirrups.
The latter could be any kind going forward, and she also has Frankie Dettori coming in to guide her. The $450,000 daughter of Ghostzapper was full of run late in that sprint showing, and I have the confidence to place her in this one second time out.
