#9 Parkour has an abundance of gate speed and will surely set sail from the gate to take command into the first turn. #5 Aqua Seaform Shame, #6 Trickle In, and #10 Laura’s Light all have pace and will be forwardly placed, as well. The tempo will be sharp.

Del Mar Oaks Contenders

#1 CARPE VINUM -- Capable filly took command in the stretch to earn a solid allowance tally on the course in preparation for her Grade 1 bow. Daughter of Carpe Diem draws well on the fence and could improve in her second off the shelf. Aaron Gryder will be up.

#2 CALIFORNIA KOOK -- Boisterous filly has shown marked improvement since moving to the weeds for Peter Miller. Cal-bred lass has been in fine form this campaign, and the dark bay rates a top-three chance with another step in the right direction.

#3 MISS EXTRA -- Group 2 heroine makes her U.S. debut for Mandella and gets top billing in the cast. Masterstroke filly is 3-for-4 this season and seems like a nice fit for the 1 1/8-mile trip on Saturday. Rispoli will be in the controls.

#4 WARREN’S SHOWTIME -- Consistent contender from the Lewis shedrow made a big late run to be a very good third in the recent San Clemente (G2) on the surface. Local winner boasts a 7-4-0-2 turf line, and she figures to receive a swift early pace to rally into in the Oaks. Filly also gets a huge rider upgrade to Mike Smith.

#5 AQUA SEAFORM SHAME -- Speedy sort from the Baltas barn stretches out following a pair of smart turf sprint wins on the oval. Kantharos filly faces a tall task on the stretch out at this level, but she would not be a total shock being from an excellent turf outfit. Ruben Fuentes retains the ride.

#6 TRICKLE IN -- Temple City filly is 3-for-4 in her career and ships west for her Golden State debut. Now in the hands of Dan Blacker, the sophomore is very quick, but might have to rate and pounce in a field with a lot of early zip.

#7 RED LARK -- One-run closer from the Gallagher barn was second in the Wilshire (G3) two back prior to finishing second in an allowance prep on this green last out. Irish-bred has a nice turn of foot in a field where the projected pace will aid her running style. Van Dyke will be in the silks.

#8 NEIGE BLANCHE -- Recent Group 3 heroine makes her debut on U.S. soil for Powell. Chestnut is a three-time winner from six overseas events, and the lass will get Lasix for the initial time on Saturday. Flavien Prat riding adds to the appeal.

#9 PARKOUR -- Speedster is the pace of the race and will aim to take the cast all the way on the front end. The second from the Mandella shedrow broke her maiden in style on the course in December, and she comes in fresh for her third run of 2020. Franco will ride the win contender, who looms large if allowed to dictate things through reasonable splits.

#10 LAURA’S LIGHT -- Likely one to beat is 4-for-5 on the sod with a second, including a pair of graded victories in succession. Miller pupil has run well in both local tries to date, and she has learned to rate some early before putting in her best run in the lane. Constitution filly is a must use beneath Cedillo.

#11 GUITTY -- San Clemente (G2) runner-up draws the dreaded widest post for Baltas. Dark bay filly has earned both of her career wins at Del Mar, and she will receive ample pace to rally into on Saturday, but the post draw might be too much to overcome. French-bred could rally for a share with a perfect ride from Hernandez.
