How to bet the Gowell Stakes
A total of seven newly turned sophomore fillies will go postward in Wednesday’s $125,000 Gowell S. at Turfway Park. The six-furlong tilt on the Tapeta features a well-matched cast lacking a standout, and I am most interested in a filly that I expect to shine in her first run on the all-weather surface.
Gowell Wagers
#4 She's All Charm will make her local bow in the affair coming off an unplaced try in the Tepin S. on the turf at Aqueduct in her most recent performance. Trained by Eoin Harty, the filly commenced her career on the lawn at Ellis Park in the summer and rallied for a game score going 5 1/2 furlongs. The bay ran an even race in the lucrative Untapable S. in her subsequent try, which preceded a strong allowance victory on the green at Keeneland on October 11.
The daughter of More Than Ready will revert back to a dash in this spot and uses this venue as her homebase, so I feel that she will be quite comfortable in her first afternoon showing at Turfway on Wednesday. The Godolphin homebred comes in with a bullet morning move as of late and will have Luan Machado in the stirrups. She will rally into a contested early pace and take command late.
#6 She's All Charm and @FrankieDettori take the third at Keeneland! 🤩

#5 Keyana (3-1) tired late after leading into the stretch in an allowance fray at Churchill Downs most recently, and she has intrigue while making her first attempt on the synthetic. The Daniel Leitch pupil graduated well at Keeneland two back, and the daughter of Omaha Beach will bring pace to the race for a conditioner with good numbers with horses going from the all-weather to the dirt, in general. The KatieRich Stables’ homebred will be forcing the action early with Albin Jimenez inheriting the mount.
#1 Hidden Quarry (20-1) missed the break in a local allowance tilt last out when checking in fifth, and the Ethan West trainee could easily improve off of that in this run with a better start. The Preservationist filly looked good in her debut score at Presque Isle Downs in October and has plenty of room for improvement with just a pair of lifetime tries to her credit. This Kentucky-bred lass will save ground and do her best work in the stretch beneath Abel Cedillo.
