Sorrento Analysis

#2 September Secret, #4 My Girl Red, #5 Trip to Seoul, and #6 Scaterra will each flash early speed in the Sorrento.

Sorrento Contenders

#1 GET ON THE BUS -- First timer from the O’Neill barn brought $340,000 in March and is bred to be a nice one. Uncle Mo filly shows a long string of morning drills, including three moves at Del Mar, and she could be dangerous if able to overcome the tricky rail post on debut. Mario Gutierrez will ride.

#2 SEPTEMBER SECRET -- Gray daughter of Grazen showed vast improvement in her second appearance when drawing off to a convincing score for Miller. $20,000 yearling buy will show speed from her inner post beneath Abel Cedillo.

#3 EXCHANGE VOWS -- Chestnut daughter of Tapiture rallied for a smart debut score at Los Alamitos for Gonzalez. Juvenile lass drew off with good energy at first asking, and the California-bred will have a swift early pace to close into on Friday. She could be moving best of all in the lane.

#4 MY GIRL RED -- Half-sister to Smarty Jones S. hero Gold Street looms as the one to beat following a decisive debut tally at Santa Anita for Keith Desormeaux. Bay by Texas Red has trained well in the interim with a trio of works on the course, and she will be tough to upend with even modest improvement with Prat returning to the silks.

#5 TRIP TO SEOUL -- First of three from the Chapman barn graduated third time out when defeating the boys at Mountaineer. Interesting sort has early zip, and she smoked a bullet half-mile in advance of her stakes debut, as well. Liam’s Map filly will be a presence from the break.

#6 SCATERRA -- Wildcard in the field led at every call in a dominant first-out victory on the Polytrack at Arlington. Bargain yearling buy ships west while trying the dirt for the initial time, and she will be a major player if she takes to the surface change. Rispoli will be in the stirrups.

#7 SCAT’S CHOICE -- First Samurai filly comes off a good maiden triumph against lesser in preparation of her stakes debut. Kentucky-bred gets a nice draw outside in the field, and she makes sense as a top-three player with another forward move.
