I'll trade you this delicious Queen's Plate winner for that crummy old Danish Dynaformer

Danish Dynaformer was ever-so-slightly favored in the Queen's Plate when second to Shaman Ghost, and the classic exacta renews their rivalry in the Prince of Wales Stakes on Tuesday, July 28, at Fort Erie Racetrack. To help celebrate the event, TwinSpires is giving away 20x points if you win at least $20 on the 9-race card, and Brisnet.com has made available FREE Ultimate PPs for the featured event.
The headline comes from a scene in The Simpsons where Bart gets his dad to give him a danish in exchange for a doorstop simply by making the doorstop sound more appealing: "I'll trade you this delicious doorstop for that crummy old danish," tempts Bart. Shaman Ghost is certainly better than a doorstop in this spot and a worthy favorite, but the Queen's Plate win means he'll be a shorter price here. The morning line suggests 7-to-5 versus his adversary's 9-to-5, but even money and 2-to-1 seems more likely to me, and there's no way I think the Queen's Plate winner is 50% more likely to repeat than the horse he beat last time, though it is worth noting the score is actually 2-0, as Shaman Ghost also won the Marine Stakes.
Still, despite the race being void of early speed from a who-wants-the-lead perspective, what frontrunners there are in here aren't very fast, and I expect Patrick Husbands to have Danish Dynaformer even more forwardly placed in his second start with the colt, who made a big first move in the Queen's Plate before flattening out.
The Prince of Wales is the eighth race on a nine-race card that features rolling Pick 3s, a pair of Pick 4s, and a $1 Pick 5 on the last five races. My ABC grid below covers it all. Good luck!
