Instagrand headlines Breeders’ Cup Future Wager Juvenile pool, ‘All Other Sires’ tops Juvenile Sires pool

Grade 2 winner Instagrand (#8) and the “All Other Sires” closed as favorites in their respective pools when the second of three Breeders’ Cup Future Wagers closed on Sunday.
Instagrand opened at 4-1 on Friday and was bet down to 7-2 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) pool. The Jerry Hollendorfer trainee is targeting the American Pharoah Stakes (G1) (formerly the FrontRunner) at Santa Anita Park on September 29.
Roadster (#13), who makes his stakes bow in Monday’s Del Mar Futurity, didn’t see any change from his morning-line odds of 6-1. The “All Other Juveniles” (#24) wagering choice was bet down from 30-1 to 8-1 and was the only other betting interest to close at single-digit odds in the Juvenile pool.
Accordingly, the sires of Instagrand and Roadster were tabbed in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sires pool, though they didn’t close as the favorite. Instagrand is by Into Mischief (#6), who closed at 9-2, while Roadster is by Quality Road (#12), who saw his 5-1 morning line drift up to 8-1 at close of the pool.
Favored at 4-1 in the Juvenile Sires pool was the “All Other Sires” (#24).
The final Breeders’ Cup Future Wager pair of pools will cover the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) and Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1), from October 5 through October 7.
