Journalism 4-1 in early-closing KDFW Pool 6

The sixth and final Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW) pool in advance of this year's Churchill Downs classic is scheduled this week beginning Thursday at noon ET.

Win and exacta wagering on Pool 6 will close at 4 p.m. on Saturday in advance of the three major final domestic preps: the Blue Grass (G1), Wood Memorial (G2), and Santa Anita Derby (G1). The UAE Derby (G2) at Meydan will be run earlier on Saturday.

#20 Journalism, the San Felipe (G2) winner and Santa Anita Derby favorite, is the 4-1 morning line favorite in Pool 6. He will be joined in the Santa Anita Derby by #3 Baeza, #4 Barnes, and #11 Citizen Bull, the juvenile champion. Various other KDFW options were entered in the other prep races on Saturday.

There are no refunds in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. Should Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week's three-day pool that one of the wagering interests has experienced an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately. Pool 6 will be the final pari-mutuel opportunity to wager on the Kentucky Derby prior to the race.
