With hot jockey Lindey Wade (a 22% winner at Turf Paradise) in the saddle, Misawa is a logical choice to beat #2 Flying Charlie (3-1) to the finish line. The latter exits a pair of runner-up efforts sprinting five furlongs over this track and class level, so he’s a logical candidate to complete the exacta.

#5 Twelve Stars (5-2) is the morning line favorite after finishing second in a 5 1/2-furlong dirt sprint over this track and class level. But her dam has yet to produce a turf winner from nine starters, so switching to grass is a question mark for Twelve Stars.

We’ll try to beat her with #8 Rogers N Wranglers (7-2). The daughter of Freud has the breeding to handle grass and ran well over this course, distance, and class level on Jan. 3, setting the pace before settling for second place by a neck.
