Picks and Plays
Presque Isle Downs: Race 4: Maiden Special Weight (six furlongs on Tapeta, 2:51 p.m. ET)
#2 Schiffhauer Strong (8-5) has run strongly in his first two starts sprinting over this track and class level. He finished second by a head in his debut dashing five furlongs, earning a 71 Brisnet Speed rating. Then he improved to a 78 Brisnet Speed rating when second in a 5 1/2-furlong event.
Trainer Michael LeCesse has been hot at Presque Isle this year, winning at a 22% rate, and jockey Walber Alencar has gone 2-for-8 (25%) teaming up with LeCesse over the last two months. We’ll count on Schiffhauer Strong to lead the way home over #4 Movisitor (9-2), #6 Falk (3-1), and #7 Gotta Go Gator (8-1).

We’ll split our plays between the exacta and trifecta, playing the latter ticket to take advantage of the Trifecta Tuesday promotion.
- $15 Exacta: 2 with 4
- $7.50 Trifecta: 2 with 4 with 6,7 ($15)
Total: $30
Horseshoe Indianapolis: Race 4: Maiden Special Weight (one mile, 4:03 p.m. ET)
#4 Rabbit Hound (3-1) ran okay in his debut racing one mile at Ellis Park, finishing third by five lengths with a respectable 70 Brisnet Speed rating.
Hot trainer Brad Cox (a 21% winner at Horseshoe Indianapolis this year) strikes at a 27% rate with second-time starters. Even better, Rabbit Hound is set to race with Lasix for the first time, a 37% winning move for Cox. Throw in Horseshoe Indianapolis' leading jockey Marcelino Pedroza, and Rabbit Hound looks ready to lead the way home over #7 Paddock Boss (7-2), stablemate #2 Qualified (5-1), and #3 Accidental Hero (4-1).
- $15 to win on #4 Rabbit Hound
- $5 Exacta: 4 with 2,3,7 ($15)
Total: $30
Fort Erie: Race 10: Prince of Wales S. (1 3/16 miles, 5:35 p.m. ET)
#2 Ironstone (8-5) ran strongly in the Queen’s Plate S. racing 1 1/4 miles over the Woodbine Tapeta track last month, tracking the early pace and taking command after six furlongs before weakening down the homestretch to finish fourth.
While horses are the most important factor in handicapping any race, many bettors look toward jockey statistics to strengthen their opinions and separate top contenders.@J_Keelerman helps you understand rider stats 👇 https://t.co/asGyQ1e0YO

There isn’t much pace on paper in the Prince of Wales field, so Ironstone—with his abundant tactical speed—figures to enjoy a favorable trip under hot jockey Kazushi Kimura, a 20% winner this year. We’ll bet on Ironstone to edge Queen’s Plate third-place finisher #5 Sir for Sure (7-5) in the second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown.
- $20 Exacta: 2 with 5
Good luck!
