#2 Ready for More (2-1) hasn’t hit the board in three starts this season, but all three of those runs came in maiden special weights. Ready for More actually posted a competitive 62 Brisnet Speed rating (tied for the highest figure in Monday’s field) when finishing midfield in a six-furlong maiden special weight on Aug. 3.

Dropping into the maiden claiming ranks should help Ready for More produce a winning run. We’ll bet him over logical favorite #6 Where’s Moe (7-5) in a cold exacta.

Presque Isle Downs: Race 2: Gem City S. (1 1/16 miles on Tapeta, 4:37 p.m. ET)

#1 Kate’s Kingdom (10-1) has never run at Presque Isle Downs, but her form on Tapeta is excellent, highlighted by a victory in the one-mile and 70-yard Powder Break S. at Gulfstream Park in early summer.

Last time out, Kate’s Kingdom ran well in the 1 1/16-mile Trillium S. (G3) over the Woodbine Tapeta track, rallying wide into a pedestrian pace to finish third behind Grade 1 winner Lady Speightspeare. If she receives a quicker pace to chase in the Gem City, Kate’s Kingdom can spring a surprise over #5 Tactical Pajamas (5-2) and #10 I Recall (3-1).

#10 Boo Boo Kitty (10-1) has come to hand impressively in recent starts at Presque Isle. After wiring a six-furlong allowance optional claimer in the quick time of 1:08.89 (defeating a next-out allowance winner by 3 1/2 lengths), Boo Boo Kitty upset the multiple graded stakes-placed Club Car in the Satin and Lace S., reaching the finish line in 1:08.30.

With her pacesetting speed and improving profile, Boo Boo Kitty is a live threat to upset #6 Caravel (5-2) and #3 Change of Control (7-2).
