Let's take a look at what the Kentucky Derby (G1) contenders are up to as we approach the home stretch, with August being the final month leading up to the First Saturday in September.
Changes on the Kentucky Derby Leaderboard
It was a quiet week on the Road to the Kentucky Derby. With no official qualifying races taking place, the leaderboard remained unchanged with Tiz the Law (272 points), Authentic (200 points), and Honor A. P. (120 points) leading the way.

Anneau d’Or: With an eye toward competing in the Ellis Park Derby, Anneau d’Or clocked 6 furlongs in 1:15.40 on Sunday at Del Mar.
Art Collector: In his first workout since winning the Blue Grass (G2), Art Collector took to the Churchill Downs main track and traversed 4 furlongs in :49 on Saturday. The Aug. 9 Ellis Park Derby is next on the agenda.
Attachment Rate: Breezed a half-mile in :49.60 on Sunday at Churchill Downs.
Azul Coast: Clocked 6 furlongs in 1:14.20 on Thursday at Del Mar.
Cezanne: Completed his preparations for the Shared Belief S. by working in company with stablemate Thousand Words on Saturday at Del Mar, going 6 furlongs in 1:13.80.
Eight Rings: Blazed 5 furlongs in a bullet :59.20 on Sunday at Del Mar.
Enforceable: Cruised an easy half-mile in :51.20 on Friday at Churchill Downs.
Dean Martini: The Ohio Derby (G3) winner took a step toward the Ellis Park Derby when breezing a half-mile in :48.60 on Thursday at Churchill Downs.
Honor A. P.: Wrapped up his preparations for the Shared Belief by clocking 5 furlongs in 1:01.20 on Saturday at Del Mar.
King Guillermo: Fired off another fast workout on Saturday at Gulfstream Park, traveling 5 furlongs in 1:00.11.
Mixchevious Alex: Cruised 3 furlongs in :36.20 on Monday at Parx Racing.
Pneumatic: Clocked 5 furlongs in 1:01.55 on Sunday at Saratoga.
Shared Sense: Indiana Derby (G3) winner returned to the Churchill Downs work tab on Sunday, breezing 4 furlongs in :49.40.
Shivaree: Worked a half-mile in :48.09 on Saturday at Gulfstream.
Storm the Court: Turned in another workout over the Del Mar turf course on Sunday, going 4 furlongs in :50.
Thousand Words: In his final breeze prior to the Shared Belief, Thousand Words breezed 6 furlongs in company with Cezanne, recording a time of 1:13.80.
Tiz the Law: The Kentucky Derby favorite sped 5 furlongs in a snappy 1:00.48 on Saturday at Saratoga.
Uncle Chuck: Blazed 6 furlongs in 1:12.20 on Sunday at Del Mar, continuing his preparations for a showdown with Tiz the Law in the Aug. 8 Travers (G1).
Looking Ahead to the Kentucky Derby
The Road to the Kentucky Derby continues on Saturday with the Shared Belief S. at Del Mar, which will award qualification points to the top four finishers on a 50-20-10-5 basis. Entries for the 1 1/16-mile race were drawn on Sunday with Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Honor A. P. slated to face the undefeated $3.65 million auction purchase Cezanne and the two-time graded stakes winner Thousand Words.
Los Alamitos Derby (G3) winner Uncle Chuck and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) runner-up Anneau d’Or have also been entered, though they’re expected to scratch and instead target the Aug. 8 Travers (G1) and Aug. 9 Ellis Park Derby, respectively.
