Kentucky Oaks Future Wager opens with Venetian Harbor listed at 8-1

Venetian Harbor romped by 9 1/4 lengths when making her stakes debut in the Feb. 8 Las Virgenes (G2) at Santa Anita, and the exciting 3-year-old filly is the 8-1 morning line favorite among 23 individual betting interests in this weekend’s Kentucky Oaks Future Wager.

The lone Oaks Future Wager will be offered concurrently with Pool 3 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager, which closes a half-hour earlier Sunday, and the mutuel field of “All Other 3-year-old Fillies” is pegged at 6-1 on oddsmaker Mike Battaglia’s morning line.

Other fillies expected to take betting action include Grade 1 runner-up Donna Veloce, Rachel Alexandra (G2) scorer Finite, and recent Davona Dale (G2) winner Tonalist’s Shape. All are listed at 10-1 for the Oaks Future Wager.

Bets can be placed at Churchill Downs, TwinSpires.com and satellite wagering centers across North America. There are no refunds in the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager. Should Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of the three-day pool that one of the wagering interests has experienced an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the Kentucky Oaks, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
