Kicking off Closing Week of 2016 spring-summer meeting at Churchill Downs

There are only three racing days left at Churchill Downs, which means only two days left to take your shot at being the lone winner of the Louisville track's Single^6 jackpot, which enters the Thursday, June 30, card with a carryover of $671,761. Based on typical pool totals, a lone winning ticket could be worth as much as $900,000.

If I were allowed to play the Single^6 I'd pin all my hopes on #9 Starof the Nile in the nightcap. She's 6-to-1 on the morning line, so value might be there in the multis. She started her career on turf but has only raced on dirt since shipping north from Fair Grounds. Now she drops to the lowest level at which she's competed and returns to turf but retains jockey Brian Hernandez with Brisnet.com Speed Ratings that line up with this group nicely.
