Longshot Antonia Autumn kicks off stakes action on Indiana Derby Day

16-1 shot Antonia Autumn emerged from the pack in the stretch of the Indiana General Assembly Distaff S. to record a drawing-off victory under jockey Corey Lanerie.

The Castleton Lyons homebred finished 1 1/16 miles over the yielding turf in 1:45.73 for trainer Ben Colebrook.

Kitten’s Dumplings, the 5-2 favorite, finished second.

The turf was still yielding as 2-1 favorite Glenard scooted through the inside of pacesetter Scotland Forever to take the J. Kenneth Self Shelby County Boys and Girls Club S. two races later.

Alex Cintron piloted the Graham Motion-trained five-year-old gelding, who ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.97. The Andrew Stone colorbearer earned his first stakes win in this spot.

Thatcher Street got up in the shadow of the wire to snatch second from Scotland Forever.

Call Pat put in a ferocious run in late stretch but ran out of room late as Cabana prevailed in the Mari Hulman George S. over the sloppy main track.

Cabana, the 2-1 second choice, and jockey Luis Quinonez kept the pressure on leader Sweet N Wicked before taking over in the lane and posting a final time of 1:43.98 for 8 1/2 furlongs on the off-track.

Trained by Donnie Von Hemel, Cabana is campaigned by Wayne Sanders and Larry Hirsch.

Geothermal heated things up in the Michael G. Schaefer Memorial S. when powering down the center of the track to just miss to 5-2 favorite Ulanbator.

The four-year-old colt, owned and bred by Mary Ann Charlston, got the head-bobbing win under Julien Leparoux while completing a mile and 70 yards on the sloppy main track in 1:41.01.

Ulanbator placed in both the Dywer S. (G3) and Matt Winn S. (G3) last year for trainer Ian Wilkes, and added a first stakes win to his resume in this spot.
