Inaugurated in 1981, the Matriarch Stakes is a Grade I horse race run each year at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Del Mar, CA. Prior to 2014, the race called The Hollywood Park Racetrack home.2-time American Female Turf Champion and Hall of Famer Flawlessly won the race three years in a row, capturing wins in 1991, 1992, and 1993. Other notable winners include three other American Female Turf Champions in Royal Heroine, Ryafan, and Intercontinental.
