The History of the Starlet Stakes
Inaugurated in 1974, the Starlet Stakes was initially run as The Hollywood Starlet Stakes at The Hollywood Park Racetrack until it was moved to its current home at Los Alamitos in 2014. Historically run on dirt, the race was contested on a synthetic Cushion Track in its last 7 years at Hollywood Park but is now once again run on dirt.
Notable winners of the race include American Champion Fillies Abel Tasman, Take Charge Brandi, Blind Luck, and Seattle Slew-sired Surfside.
