Major Test For Hopeful Trotting Colts In Goodtimes Elims At Woodbine/Mohawk

The first of the Grand Circuit stakes events on the Hambletonian Trail, the Goodtimes Trot, attracted 21 total glamour boys and 12 total Hambletonian hopefuls collected into two eliminations on the Friday, June 8 program at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Hat Trick Habit heads the first elimination, fronting fellow eligibles Lawmaker, Wolfgang, Joey, Story Time Hanover and Winning American. With his speed, Hat Trick Habit has the potential to wire this field.

However, Run Director offers a better price, considering the improvement he has shown in four starts this season. Entering off a strong second-place finish in a division of the Ontario Sires Stakes, the only obstacle Run Director should have to avoid is running.

William Wellwood winner Alarm Detector makes his three-year-old debut in the second elimination, leading fellow hopefuls Cruising In Style, War Story, Smokee Mirrors, Hill Street and Missile Hill.

While Alarm Detector deserves favoritism, Fiftydallarbill provides us the obvious counter contender to the public choice.

At an even bigger price in that mile, Missile Hill should in some way, shape, form or amalgamation of three be involved in the race despite starting from post 10. Most bettors will neglect his chances entirely because of his post but he can trot with the best of them and can at the least make for a good trifecta.
