Meadows’ Power Play Picks Perform; Beating Best At Pompano

Thursday, Jan. 30
At Freehold, Fat Boy (33-1) raced very well from the 8 hole, finishing fourth to the race favorite.
Night racing took us to Wallyworld III at Pompano, where we prompted bettors to defeat the track’s top driver, Wally Hennessey, in four races. Wally only won one of four and although we did not win any, we benefited with three seconds, including an exacta with Wally’s solo win.
We lost with Hurrikane Kingkong (3-2), who went off the favorite but finished fifth to a 3-1 shot. Then we got started cashing across the board with Silver Wings ($6.00, $6.20 ok), who completed the $22.00 exacta in Wally’s sole win.
We were also second with No Hables Ingles ($7.20, $2.40) and Sugar And Spite ($3.40, $3.00)
Friday, Jan. 31
A PoP at the Meadows swept through a Pick 4 and Pick 3 and the usual group of single-race exotics.
In Race 3 we had the winner, Startin Something ($8.60, $3.80, $2.60). Our exotic prospects, Poacher N (11-1) and Momma’s Jolt (14-1), finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
Our contribution is Race 4 was the show horse, Kings Beach ($10.00). The 50-1 shot helped the trifecta pay $214.80 with two favorites atop it. Shooter’s Dream (8-1) finished seventh.
Race 5 was our winning single, Steuben Gladiator ($7.80, $4.60, 3.40). Bingo.
Race 6 completed the streams. We were off the board with Bergerac (11-1), fourth, and Yes Your Mattjestey (5-1), sixth.
We supplied two of four winners in the $242.70 Pick 4 and one in the $57.40 Pick 3.
Saturday, Feb. 1
The Meadowlands was the PoP target, which we hit for the win with Jacks Shadow N ($5.80, $3.40, $2.60), who turned out to be a favorite.
The public’s second choice completed the $17.00 exacta and a 17-1 shot completed the trifecta and the public’s co-third choice was fourth for a 10-cent superfecta worth $37.03.
Our combos would have been much larger, even with the favorite on top but Stendahl Hanover (60-1) finished sixth, The First Step (4-1) rolled home eighth and Captain Mulzak saw eight finish in front of him.
