Pro: Unbeaten since adding blinkers and already a winner at this distance.

Con: Some improvement needed tackling stakes foes for the first time

#2 My Buddy Mel              **

Pro: Second best in seven-furlong local prep and sire better going long.

Con: Brisnet Speed ratings below par for this level.

#3 Gettysburg Address       ****

Pro: Potentially sharper here after fading fourth last out following a longer spell.

Con: Has little room for error with plenty of other speed signed on.

#5 Magic Grant                  **

Pro: Erased 10-length deficit to upset Clever Trevor S. by 4 1/2 lengths.

Con: Might not get quite as fast a pace here while stretching out.

#6 Glengarry                     ***

Pro: Multiple stakes winner is undefeated in three starts, albeit all at six furlongs.

Con: Speedy Iowa-bred might not be suited going this far.

#7 Raging Torrent              ***

Pro: No threat in any of his SoCal stakes tries, but class drop should suit.

Con: Has lost ground late as the distances have increased.

#8 Rhino Runner                **

Pro: Comfortable maiden winner over this track and distance two months ago.

Con: Will be tested for class against far more imposing competition.

Pro: Defeated two next-out stakes winners last out in Churchill allowance.

Con: Must avoid getting caught up in an early pace war.
