Race of the day is race 9 at Will Rogers Downs

Fonner. Race 3.

Trainer Haar won with one of his last five first time starters and saddles #8 Jimmy’s Marco (20-1), a debuting son of Itsmyluckyday whose offspring win a solid 14% of their first outings. Gelding’s works include a good four furlong move in 48 2/5 from the gate here early this month for Haar, who has won with 24% of his runners since the beginning of last year. Four-year-old is worth a look with Mcneil in the saddle.

Fonner. Race 8.

A field of nine runners are entered for this small stake including #3 Saygoodnightgracie (5-2), who made her first start on this track a winning one when leading from the start at this distance early this month. Daughter of decent sprint sire With Distinction has won 2-of-8 career starts and makes her second outing for trainer Hall, who has won with 25% of his starters at this meet. Gray filly may prove tough to catch again with Fackler remaining aboard.

Will Rogers. Race 1.

#3 Apple Country (3-1) may have just needed her latest when second over 5 ½ furlongs at this level this month being her first outing since last July. Five-year-old has hit the board in two of three starts on this oval and trainer Smith has won with 1-of-6 starters this meet. Mare should find enough early pace to help her running late with Amparan in the irons.

Will Rogers. Race 3.

Trainer Broberg wins with 28% of his claimers and sends out #3 Indian Gem (7-2), who weakened to finish fourth as the favorite after pressing the early pace over the track and distance earlier this month. Daughter of Gemologist has hit the board in two of three starts here and Broberg wins with 28% of runners that were beaten as the favorite last time out. Mare can be forwardly placed from the start with Ramirez in the saddle.

Will Rogers. Race 5.

#7 Shadowing (7-2) took betting action but was never a serious threat when unplaced in her debut at Sam Houston over 6 1/2-furlongs in mid-February. Daughter of leading sire Tapit is out of Streaming, who won the Hollywood Starlet (G1) and is from the family of Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour. Trainer Asmussen wins with 22% of his second-time starters and filly can be tough here with Luzzi riding.

Will Rogers. Race 8.

Trainer Diodoro wins with 27% of his runners that won last time out and saddles #4 My Wise Cat (4-1), who made it two wins in a row when drawing by seven lengths in his latest over 6-furlongs here two weeks ago. Gelding was claimed three starts back by Diodoro who has won with a high 35% of starters at this meet. Five-year-old can be in good position from the start under Kennedy who won with 39% of rides for the barn in the past two months.

Will Rogers. Race 9.

Another from the high-percentage Diodoro barn is #2 Reachreachreach (3-1) who closed from off the pace to win her latest over the course and distance earlier this month. Filly has won four of thirteen career starts on dirt and Diodoro wins with 21% of runners in allowance events. Dark bay usually shows some early speed and can be the one to beat again with Kennedy retaining the mount.

Will Rogers. Race 10.

A field of maiden claimers rounds out this card with #9 A La Omega (7-2) getting class relief off an unplaced effort over 6-furlongs at Houston in his second outing early this month. Son of speedy sire Omega Code is a half-brother to one winner and trainer Nolen wins with 29% of his runners dropping two classes. Gray can be tough at this level with Wethey again in the saddle.
