Fonner Park Race 5

#7 Langs Legend (10-1) weakened to finish fifth after stalking the early pace facing slightly better over the track and distance in his latest this month in his second start after a short break. Chestnut has won one of nine starts on this oval and trainer Donlin wins with 14% of his runners third time off a layoff. Early speed is dangerous here and son of Langfuhr may be in front from the start under Martinez, who has won with 24% of his rides at this meet.

Fonner Park Race 8

Trainer Gonzalez has won with a solid 30% of his runners at this meet and saddles #6 Whiskey Storm (5-1), who stretches out in distance off a third-place finish while dropping to this level for the first time over 6 furlongs earlier this month in his second start after a near nine-month break. Gonzalez wins with 15% of his runners third time off a layoff and gelding has a record of 7-1-3-1. Son of Flat Out may be the one to catch at this longer distance and Haar retains the mount.

Gulfstream Park Race 1

First of several maiden events on turf on today’s card drew a full field including #9 First in Line (6-1). Gelding has an excellent pedigree for grass being by Uncle Mo and out of a mare by War Front, who is from a solid European family. $135K yearling purchase showed little in his debut at this distance but gets class relief and blinkers added for his second outing. Trainer Weaver wins with 15% of his second-time starters and improvement can be expected with Bravo retaining the mount.

Gulfstream Park Race 4

Maiden with similar conditions to the opener also drew a full field with #5 Don’t Tase Me Bro (7-2) making his first start for trainer Klesaris in his third outing and first since late January. Son of very promising young sire American Pharoah is out of a mare by War Front, who is a half-sister to Blue Grass (G2) winner and leading sire Pulpit. Bay drops in class with blinkers added and has worked well for Klesaris, who wins with 16% of his runners that have not raced for 46-90 days. Colt cost $160K as a yearling and can be tough at this level under Prado, who won with his latest ride for this barn.

Gulfstream Park Race 10

Final race on today’s card is another maiden on the turf and #10 Healy’s Hope (10-1) makes his first start since being claimed by Linda Rice last month in his second start and will try grass for the first time. Dark bay should relish turf being by Ghostzapper and out of a mare by Medaglia d’Oro and finished well when fourth as the favorite in his latest from which race the third-place finisher won a maiden special weight event next time out. Colt’s second dam is multiple Grade 1 winner Intangaroo and $240K yearling purchase may prove a wise claim for Rice.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 3

#1 Lincoln Center (8-1) drops into this maiden claimer over 6 furlongs on dirt for her first start for trainer Tomlinson. This follows a non-threatening unplaced effort in her debut over a mile on grass at Churchill in a maiden special weight event last September. Daughter of decent young sire Liaison is out of Fantasy (G2) winner House of Fortune, who has produced four winners and has been working forwardly for Tomlinson who wins with a decent 12% of his runners that have not raced for 90 days or more. Three next-out winners came from filly’s first outing and 3-year-old figures to show more here.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 6

In this 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight event on grass trainer Clement saddles #6 Idle Time (7-2), a debuting son of 15% turf sire Into Mischief who is out of a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Winchester. Four-year-old has been working forwardly for Clement who wins with 17% of his first-time starters and has won with 8 of 21 runners this meet. Gelding is likely ready for a good first outing under Camacho, who won with 2 of last 7 rides for this stable.

Will Rogers Downs Race 9

Early speed is dangerous at this 5 1/2-furlong distance here and #6 Deja Sue (10-1) showed early run before fading to finish unplaced while well-bet as the favorite over 6 1/2 furlongs in her debut at Remington in November. Daughter of speedy sire Fed Biz is out of a half-sister to Grade 1-placed runner War Monger and recent works include a bullet 5-furlong move in 1:01 at Houston this month for trainer Young, who wins with 20% of runners that have not raced for 90 days or more. Filly can be on or near the lead from the start with Kennedy riding.
