January 22nd, 2017

OAKS MADDY brings home to Southland the 2017 Daytona 550 National Championship title with an incredible effort against an outstanding star studded field.

Finishing second was KINDA CRUEL RED who battled gamely and certainly gave Oaks Maddy a run for her money along with SELDOM TOLD who ran 3rd and JD Accomplice who finished 4th.

Oaks Maddy ran a sizzling time of 29.98 to take home the prestigious title. She had run a 29.99 in her only official start at Daytona prior to the Championship race and was the betting public's favorite at post time. She didn't disappoint her Southland fans as she led from the start to the finish while holding off a determined Kinda Cruel Red who ran an amazing race as well.

Congratulations to OAKS MADDY, her owner Michael Hymes and the GLORIA DORSEY KENNEL and all other connections to this champion greyhound who now has 3 stakes wins in just the last few months.
